7,000 Acres for San Felipe: Bill Introduced After Years of Advocacy

After working this issue across multiple Congresses, we secured the introduction of legislation to transfer over 7,000 acres of federal land into trust for the Pueblo of San Felipe. We are hopeful that the 119th Congress will finally see this bill through to fruition.

A New Home for Santee's Youth

In early 2023, the Santee Sioux Nation retained Starzyk & Associates to help secure funding to complete a long-planned new teen center. Through the congressional appropriations process and in close coordination with Congressman Adrian Smith’s office, we secured the final $1 million needed in FY23 — allowing the Nation to finish construction and open the doors to a new gathering place for Santee’s young people.
